Part I. Introduction

These notes supplement the existing Intel Animation for Java* Software Development Kit (SDK) documentation with the latest information available on the state of the software.

Intel Animation for Java is available in two configurations: SDK and Runtime. Install the SDK if you are a developer and you want to integrate high performance sprite animations into your Java applets or applications. Install one of the Runtimes if you want to run Intel Animation-enabled Java applets under either Microsoft Internet Explorer* or Netscape Navigator*.

This Beta software expires on April 30th, 1997.

Part III. Installation

Please refer to http://developer.intel.com/ial/jmedia/Anim.htm for information on system requirements, and downloading and installing Intel Animation for Java. Make sure the following steps are taken:

  • Before installing the Intel Animation for Java SDK, exit all other programs.
  • If you wish to use Netscape Navigator with this package, install it before you install the Intel Animation for Java package.
  • The SDK contains the following components:
    • Intel Animation for Java package classes
    • Documentation, including an API User's Guide and an API reference guide
    • Sample applets, including a tutorial with sample code
    • Installation validation applet

Part IV. Uninstall

Intel Animation for Java Installation installs several media components. Many of these media components can run independently of each other. You may uninstall any of the components using the Windows* 95 Uninstall utility. From the Control Panel, choose the Add/Remove Program. The installed components that can be uninstalled include:

  1. Intel Animation for Java SDK
  2. Intel Animation for Java IE runtime
  3. Intel Animation for Java Netscape runtime

To uninstall, select each component and push the Add/Remove button.
