Intel Spatial Audio for Java* Package

The Intel Spatial Audio for Java* package provides a simple interface for audio rendering. It makes the addition of interactive three-dimensional audio to Java applets and applications very straightforward.

You can use the Intel Spatial Audio for Java package to add realism to a 3D graphical environment, provide interactive audio effects on web pages, or add compelling multimedia content to any Java applet or application.

A New Experience

Intel Spatial Audio for Java is built upon the Intel 3D Realistic Sound Experience (3D RSX) technology. 3D RSX renders audio for direction and proximity to create 3D realism and a sense of space in an environment. For instance, you can create a scene where moving a mouse pointer toward an object increases the audio level of the sound associated with that object, or where you can hear an object approaching from behind.

In addition to 3D audio localization and mixing, 3D RSX provides support for streaming, reverberation, Doppler effects, and pitch control. The Intel Spatial Audio for Java package brings the power of 3D RSX to Java.

Easy to Develop, High Performance

The Intel Spatial Audio for Java package allows the Java developer to produce applets and applications utilizing the 3D facilities of both the eyes and the ears to make the user's experience even more compelling. Because its model of audio emitters and a listener parallels that of graphical objects and a camera, the package is easy to understand and facilitates the addition of realistic audio to 3D graphical environments. Built-in scalability enables very high-quality audio rendering when it is important, without consuming excessive resources when it is not. No special hardware is required, so the experience can be delivered to a wide variety of users: the software works with Windows* 95 and Windows NT*, and utilizes any standard stereo PC sound card. The API provides high-level interfaces for ease of use, but also allows a high degree of control over the audio environment.
