Intel's Java* Media Framework Package

Intel's Java* Media Framework package implements the cross-platform Media Framework API co-developed with JavaSoft, Intel, SGI, and Apple. It provides class and interface support for video and audio for the Java developer, establishing a new era of media-rich Java applets and applications.

High Performance Implementation

The Intel implementation of the Java Media Framework (JMF) is based upon the Microsoft ActiveMovie* streaming media infrastructure. This includes support for many media file formats: AVI, WAV, MOV, AU, and MPEG. Since our JMF implementation is natively implemented, developers are assured of the best possible performance for Web clients running on Intel processor-based PCs using Windows* 95 or Windows NT*.
