Powertrain Control Products
Due to increased government regulation and consumer demand for better fuel economy and
performance, powertrain controller requirements have increased dramatically since the original systems
(For more background on engine control please see our Engine Control Background Document
). Intel is meeting these increasing
requirements with a broad family of engine controllers and flash memories. The family offers many
different peripherals for the powertrain module designer: the flexible Event Processor Array (EPA) for
high speed capture and compare, A/D converters, memory combinations, and even the CAN protocol,
to name a few. With the addition of the high-performance 83C196EA to the family, we feel confident
you will be able to find a fit for your module. For your module memory needs, Intel also offers a
number of flash products.
