The Performance/AU supports Pentium Pro processors at 150, 166, 180 and 200 MHz. Changing the processor requires changes in several jumper settings. Note: Be sure to verify if the Pentium Pro processor supports Voltage ID (VID) and jumper the motherboard appropriately.
- What upgrade components can be installed on the Performance/AU?
The Performance/AU will accept processor upgrades, various combinations of system memory, and the battery/real time clock can be replaced. Note: if four SIMMs are used all the SIMMs must be of the same size and type, since the memory will be interleaved.
- How do I upgrade to the latest BIOS?
BIOS upgrade files for standard Intel products are available via FTP from ftp.intel.com or may be downloaded from the Intel BBS. The BIOS identifier for the Performance/AU motherboard is CG0. Also see general instructions for BIOS upgrades.

There is currently no public document containing the stepping of the 82450 PCIset. The version of the 82450 PCIset can be determined by calling the Intel Support line at 1 (800) 628-8686 or 1 (503) 696-7003.
- Why does my system report 'CMOS Time and Date Not Set' after rebooting?
Why can't I set the time and date on my system?
This may indicate a dead battery. This may also indicate a BIOS issue which is resolved by upgrading to the latest version of the BIOS. The symptoms are as follows:
If the motherboard is powered up or reset when the date is from October 20 to October 31 or from December 20 to December 31, the message 'CMOS Time and Date Not Set' is reported. When Setup is entered, the date 'Jan 01, 1990' will be displayed. When the user re-enters one of the dates listed above, the 'CMOS Time and Date Not Set' error will again be reported.
BIOS Upgrade Instructions are available to help users determine which BIOS upgrade file matches the board, how to download the file, and how to perform the upgrade.
