Flash Data Integrator (FDI) User's Guide

The Flash Data Integrator (FDI) User's Guide explains the details of using Intel's FDI software with standard Intel Flash memory to achieve a flexible, cost-effective code plus data solution. This manual will initiate the user to the software specification and system testing environment. The next release of the guide will be available with the release of the FDI Developer's Kit targeted for July 1997. The kit will include tested C-code, samples of the Smart 3 Advanced Boot Block flash component and porting information.

This User's Guide includes an EEPROM replacement technical paper [which describes flash timing, data management, and overall system concepts related to storing data and code in a single flash device], a detailed design description of the FDI software and the application program interface (API), and Intel's software emulation/test platform specification [which characterizes the test environment and software planned for use during development and testing of the FDI software]. There is also an appendix that denotes frequently asked questions, technical support, system requirements and the FDI license agreement.
