Product Description
The Intel 430MX PCIset effectively elevates the performance level of Pentium® processor-based mobile computers. The first of Intel's complete program of mobile PCIsets solutions, the 430MX employs many architectural innovations developed for the popular 430FX PCIset designed for desktop computers. It was created for such uses as ProShare™:, high-speed Ethernet, and audio- and graphic-intensive applications.

The Intel 430MX PCIset is ideally suited for any application that requires a faster bus (from 25- to 33- MHz) for greater performance. Like the 430FX PCIset, the 430MX supports the new memory technologies of EDO DRAMs and pipelined burst SRAMs. Its advanced architecture provides greater than 100 MB/s PCI data streaming, enabling a new class of applications. In addition, it offers higher levels of performance to run today's Windows* applications up to 30% faster than existing systems.

The 430MX PCIset optimizes component pin-out for simpler board layout; includes a design guide, IBIS models and applications information; and helps OEMs launch Pentium processors with PCI systems to meet the mobile market demand. The 430MX's packaging is designed specifically for mobile applications, promoting faster assembly and quicker time to market.

The 430MX PCIset's highly integrated mode 4 local bus IDE controller improves operation of applications. In addition, its integrated plug-and-play port makes systems easier to use and increases performance output by transforming ISA motherboard peripherals into pseudo-PCI devices. Its 100-lead component data path saves space and provides better routing than other solutions.
