Programmer and Emulator Converters

Intel microcontrollers and Flash memory come in DIP packages as well as PLCC, QFP, TSOP, and other surface mount packages. Using surface mount technology can reduce the size and increase the functionality of your system at a mini-mum cost. Intel provides many packaging options in order to meet all user pricing and space requirements. Most device programmers come with only DIP sockets and most emulators come with only DIP connectors. Our CNV-xxx and EA-xxx series of converters and emulator accessories allow you to take advantage of all the packaging options Intel provides with-out having to buy a whole new set of development tools.
The CNV-xxx series of converters allow you to program devices in PLCC, QFP, SOIC, TSOP, and other packages on device programmers with DIP sockets. All of our converters feature gold plated contacts and zero insertion force sockets and can be used with any manufacturerÆs device programmer that supports the DIP version of the target device. Many of our converters have a small enough footprint to be used on gang programmers for production programming.
Our EA-xxx series of emulator accessories convert DIP emulator connectors to a PLCC plug. The EA-xxx feature gold plated contacts and can be used with any manufacturerÆs emulator that includes a 40 pin DIP target connector. The EA-xxx have a small footprint so they can be used on targets with not much room for big emulator connectors. Currently support is provided for 20 pin, 32 pin, and 44 pin targets.
