Standards-Based Network Devices Offer Advantages
Telematics
  • ACP (Action Communications Processor)

Telematics ACP products include five platforms that let users access network devices. ACPs are available with a variety of protocol and interface modules, including X.25, frame relay and ISDN. The first ACP products featured the Intel 80186 processor. Telematics now offers products based on the Intel 80286, Intel386™ and Intel486™ processors. The use of standard Intel processors allows software to be backward compatible, enabling easy porting of new software to existing systems. In addition, the use of Intel processors lets Telematics benefit from the price/performance advantages of standard readily available PC chip sets.
