The EAGLE STP is a high-speed packet switch designed for SS7 networks. It delivers intelligent network and AIN features such as credit card verification, caller ID, 800-number and Follow-Me services. The system employs an Intel486™ processor for communications and applications. Upgrading the processor from the Intel 80286 has effectively doubled internal processing capability and provides significantly more memory resources. The Intel486 processor also lets engineers write software in protected mode, a step that reduces coding errors and reduces debug time.
