AP-525 Pentium(R) Pro Processor Thermal Design Guidelines

The Pentium (R) Pro processor is the next generation in the Intel386 TM , Intel486 TM , and Pentium families of microprocessors. The Pentium Pro microprocessor generates sufficient heat to require some attention in order to meet the case temperature specification in system designs. The goal of this document is to provide an understanding of the thermal characteristics of the Pentium Pro processor, and to discuss guidelines for meeting the thermal requirements imposed on single and multiple processor systems.
