Tool Description:

The EMUL196-PC hardware is based on PC plug-in boards, and is specifically designed to give an optimized environment to develop your Intel 196 family hardware and software. The EMUL196- PC emulator board connects to one of several POD boards through a 5 ft. (1.5m) long ribbon cable. The trace board connects to the emulator board through two ribbon cables on top of the two boards.
An important part of an emulator system is the physical connection to the target board. Nohau provides several adapters that go between the POD board and the target board. The POD boards are designed around IntelÆs technology for accurate emulation of all modes of operation. Many PODs support the chip in both external mode and single chip mode.
For single chip mode emulation with other PODs, a "port replacement unit" ("PRU") is available. This unit sits between the POD and the adapter.
