The DProbe296SA in-circuit emulator is a member of a new and inexpensive family of debug tools especially designed for software orientated development. Based on KontronÆs proven emulator technology the DProbe296SA offers fully transparent emulation without using target resources which means best possible support of the processors architecture.
The DProbe296SA features Zero-Wait-State access up to the maximum processor clock frequency and covers the whole supply voltage range from 2.7 to 5.5 Volts. A powerful break logic allows break before execute and even the recognition of not executed prefetch instructions. The internal variable clock source and the ability of generating processor control signals makes emulation possible even with not fully functional target hardware. With the optional trace system and the upgrade possibility of simulation memory, the DProbe296SA fits all requirements.
Adaptation to the target system is done over the Kontron Quad Connector or a clip over adapter if the target processor is soldered in. A built in On-Board-Selftest guarantees reliable operation under all circumstances. The small and compact design together with the optional PCM-CIA interface to the host allows the use of the DProbe296SA even in the field. A Windows* compatible debugger front end, and the plug and play design of the DProbe296SA provide users an easy to learn and easy to use debug environment.
