Vendor Information

Tool Description:

System GeneralÆs Multi-APRO is an extremely advanced programming system for processing Intel 8- and 16-bit micro-controllers for engineering or production. Support for all package styles and component families is comprehensive and ongoing.
Based on a 48 Universal Pin-Driver architecture, the Multi-APRO is the ideal tool for design or manufacturing when working with programmable devices. The system can be configured with a single sock-et for R&D and then expanded as the application turns to production. All pack-age styles are supported including TSOP, QFP, TQFP and PGA.
As many as eight modules can be linked to one controller so that programming can occur 8-at-a-time asynchronously! As well, kiting is facilitated since each module can be configured for a different device, even different package style. Stand-Alone capability allows the user to program from a master device, or, tied to a computer, files can be downloaded from floppy, hard-drive or network. Device specific algorithms are stored in the computer and on Flash (PCMCIA) card for firmware.
The Multi-APRO is reasonably priced for your application, be it engineering, low-volume or high-volume production. Mouse-driven software allows for easy to apply engineering/editing features.
Use of only approved algorithms assures optimum yields, and SGÆs patented "Auto-Mapping" technology provides for fast programming times and therefore highest throughput. "Asynchronous" operation means that as soon as the first device is inserted programming begins, when the nth socket is filled, programming in sock-et one is complete, and so on. This is particularly conducive to eliminating operator stress with todayÆs fine-pitch package styles and when integrating the system into pick-and-place handlers.
Easy-to-use engineering features allow for convenient editing of data. Additional capabilities include swap-shuffle-split and even serialization! Optional High/Low VCC verify can help insure board-level reliability. Boot-block secure features of Intel Flash memory devices are handled via pop-up windows to reduce operator error.
