Tool Description:

Evaluation boards for the MCS 151 and 251 microcontroller family provide a low cost hardware platform for code execution, debugging and performance analysis. The board allows you to evaluate an application on either the 151 or 261 microcontrollers. If your application runs on a 51FX microcontroller, it can drop into the evaluation board. Your application is upwardly binary compatible for all three processors.
The external SRAM memory can be reconfigured to match your planned memory configuration. It operates in both page and nonpage mode and can even be configured to operate from zero to three wait states. This permits the developer to use the evaluation board to closely match the execution speeds of the system application.
The kit comes with several evaluation development tool packages. They include ASM/C & debug tools. The board has a ROM monitor that can communicate with 51, 151 & 251 development tool debuggers. Using these tools, you can download object files from the PC, then execute and debug code on the board. The evaluation board can also be used with your application software as part of your prototype hardware design. The address/data bus pins, port pins, and other necessary device pins, including reset, power, and GND are available through headers on the board. You can connect prototype hardware to these pins and operate the board in a standalone system mode to evaluate your design.
