This tech note gives a detailed explanation of the Large Erase Block architecture found within Intel Flash components. Flash large erase blocks are defined and an explanation is given for Intel's use of Large Erase Blocks. Additionally, the question of why flash erase blocks are important from a systems level perspective is answered.
