This document provides drawings and dimensions for tape and reel packing for all three of Intel's Small Outline Package (SOP) offerings. The three SOP offerings are TSOP (Thin Small Outline Package), PSOP (Plastic Small Outline Package) and SSOP (Shrink Small Outline Package).
This document does not include any tray or tube information. Please refer to Intel's World Wide Web Site or FaxBack* document #2814 for tray and tube drawings and dimension tables.
Intel's SOP products are all offered in the tape and reel format, along with tray and tube ( tube is for 44-L PSOP only) media as well.
Tape and reel media is suitable for automated SMT assembly equipment. The tape reel packing system used on automated assembly equipment places SOPs in a tape embossed with individual carrier packets. The devices are then sealed with a cover tape to retain them, and for protection. The loaded tapes are next wound onto a reel similar to a movie reel. SOP tape and reel physical dimensions are illustrated in Figures 1-1, 1-2, 1-3, 1-4, and 1-5, and are described in Tables 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, and 1.4.
