Meritec sockets (Prod/Proto)

Meritec's 5 new SOP Sockets expand the use of all of Intel's Flash memory products in SOP packages. Available for 40-Ld TSOP, 48-Ld TSOP, 56-Ld TSOP, 44-Ld PSOP and 56-Ld SSOP, they are designed for use in both prototyping and production environments.
These sockets replace the original prototyping sockets introduced in 1995 and feature a positive locking lid and high normal force contacts. As part of Intel's "Total Solution", these sockets provide ease-of-use, including automatic pick-and-place.
A DXF file with application notes and samples are available for customers upon request. The design for 32-Ld TSOP is complete, however the tooling will not be developed unless there is an increase in the demand. Please contact Meritec if there is interest in the 32-Ld product.
These sockets are available now from Meritec. International distribution through selected distributors of Intel's Flash memories will commence no later than second quarter 1996.
