Three Elan device programmer models are available in this range: Model 3000 PC Remote (low cost); Model 4000 flash Turbo Copiers (industrial production) and the Model 5000 Turbo Editing Programmer (production and engineering). EF-PER (Extra Fast-Programming Enhancement Routine) is the designed-in feature to provide high speed reading, programming and verifying. High reliability adapters support all package types including SOP, PLCC, LCC, FlatPack, QFP, SOIC, etc.
The structure of the EF-PER range of programmers comprises two parts: the Main Control Unit (MCU) and the ZIF Programming Active Connection (ZIFPAC) using only the highest quality zero insertion force sockets. The MCU is built into a robust cast aluminum base, which allows the ZIFPAC to be slid into it for secure connection. ZIFPACs accommodate various device technology requirements with any choice of package type. An enclosed unit, in this way, provides a flexible, simple and reliable production programming station with facilities for remote PC connection. Algorithm enhancements are provided with a simple plug-in cartridge.
The EF-PER Turbo features provides high speed programming, which takes advantage of Intel's fastest flash memory programming routines to maximize production throughput. This speed advantage with high reliability sockets offers greater cost efficiency than lower priced products. A graphics/window PC driver called EXFILE is available for remote PC control by semi-skilled operators.
