The ChipServer-32TX/AX is a highly cost-effective solution for testing and programming of Intel Flash memory devices in production and engineering environments. The ChipServer-32TX is a manual 32 socket system for production and engineering. The ChipServer-32AX is functionally equivalent to the -32TX but includes automated device handling capabilities.
The ChipServer can test/program up to 64 memory sites in parallel. All flash memory devices, sizes and technologies are supported. The ChipServer is capable of performing any type of functional device testing, including boundary and chip mode write/verify using as data source a data file, a programmable pattern or a random function generator. Parametrically the ChipServer can measure Icc currents with 2ŠA resolution and perform timing measurements with a 2ns accuracy. All sockets have independent Vcc and Vpp drivers. The voltage sources are fully programmable with a resolution of 25mV.
The control program is a Windows application. An intuitive and user-friendly interface allows for efficient system set-up and programming. The control and computing platform is an embedded 100MHz Pentium(R) processor-based computer. Thus, the ChipServer is based on a hardware/software platform that provides the user with the ability to add/delete modular building blocks. The ChipServer can adapt from components to SIMMs to PCMCIA Cards by simply swapping the appropriate modules on the same base platform. Automated systems are configured with an array of options, including input/output modules that will handle tubes, trays, JEDEC, boats and other common component storage/feeding media. Optional package alignment via vision or mechanical self centering tooling, pin 1 location and component rotation are available. Additional options include component auto sorting, marking or labeling into and out of the systems. Manual ChipServer systems can be easily converted into automated systems due to the highly modular system architecture.
