Yamaichi Prototyping sockets (TSOP 1)

Yamaichi's IC197 Series TSOP I prototype sockets were designed to socket Intel's Flash memory family. The sockets provide an excellent tool to reduce the time it takes to design and layout new board products. Design and layout modifications can be quickly implemented without scrapping or damaging the flash memory components or boards due to de-soldering. The sockets provide a reliable mechanism for pre-production board-level testing and for programming firmware changes.
Yamaichi's IC197 sockets can be mounted on a demo board and used to demonstrate device performance, functionality and flexibility. The same socket can be used for various densities and speed grades.
Yamaichi's IC197 surface mount sockets are manufactured from proven high-temperature thermoplastic. The sockets feature ultra low profiles, small form-factor designs, and additional solder pads to strengthen the socket to board interface connection. The sockets are available with a metal or a high-temperature plastic lid. The plastic lid provides protection from shorting for applications that require flash memory devices to be in close proximity to each other. The unique design allows easy hand insertion and extraction of the components.
