This powerful and versatile programmer is the big brother of the PP40 production gang copier. From the simplicity of gang programming to the complexity of true set programming, the sophisticated PP42 maintains a universally high standard of performance.
As a stand-alone unit or in remote control, PP42 offers a comprehensive range of development system features.
Device related functions include electronic device identification, load, illegal bit check, gang/set program, empty test, verify (nominal and margined) and set device limits.
Data can be loaded into the PP42's RAM in several ways: downloaded via one of the ports, loaded from a master device, or from keypad entry.
Device selection is made from an on-board library through which the user can 'browse' by simply using the cursor scan keys, or by entering the device code directly. Alternatively, the 'Electronic Identifier' can be invoked. This reads a unique signature from the socketed device and calls up the required programming algorithm.
All stand-alone functions are controlled from the keypad, working interactively with an integral display to show the program sequence, edit functions, set-up parameters and visual confirmation of the operation performed. Bi-chromatic LEDs indicate socket status and operational pass or fail by illuminating green or red respectively.
Stringent in-porgram test such as illegal bit, empty test and nominal and margined verify guarantee the quality of programmed devices and reduce the incidence of infant mortality.
Eight interlace configurations are available to cover all gang/set permutations and minimize programming times, from the simplicity of gang programming up to 8 devices to the complexity of programming 2 different sets of 4 devices in 32-bit mode. These operations are performed without user intervention, other than the selection of 8, 16, or 32-bit mode.
Remote control is provided via dual RS232C ports or RS232C and parallel port configurations. All stand-alone functions can be controlled from a host computer. |
