The PP40 represents the 'state of the art' in gang MOS copiers -- yet it's robust, reliable, easy to use, and above all, extremely cost effective.
Providing support for CMOS PROMs, EPROMs, EEPROMs and Intel Flash memories, the PP40 is truly versatile and is able to accommodate devices from 24 to 48 pins and in 0.3 and 0.6 Dual In-line Packages.
Device selection is made from an on-board library, through which the user can 'browse' by simply using the cursor scan keys or enter the device code directly. Alternatively, the 'Electronic Identifier' can be invoked. This reads a unique signature from the socketed device, telling PP40 which part is being used, and automatically calls up the required programming algorithm.
All device tests can be selected individually by the operator or as part of a pre-determined 'program' sequence. These settings, along with device selection are remembered by the PP40 on power-down, and immediately recalled on power-up -- thus saving time and reducing the possibility of user error.
Master and Slave sockets have LEDs to indicate Pass/Fail status after execution of the following functions: connect test, reverse/faulty device, empty, illegal bit, program and verify. Instant visual confirmation of correctly programmed devices allos raped throughput with total confidence in Quality Control.
The device verify function has two modes of operation: nominal, where Vcc is maintained at 5V, and margined, where Vcc is switched between upper and lower limits. This feature allows the operator to determine the quality of programming and erasure. |
