Vendor Information

Tool Description:

FlashPRO is a PC-driven device programmer. It contains a 48-pin dual in-line socket, enabling system designers to program and erase all Intel DIP Flash Memory components directly. Non-DIP components require a separately-available socket module.

Socket Module order numbers/OEM pricing:

FlashProTSOP32 $99.00
FlashProTSOP40 $99.00
FlashProTSOP48 $99.00
FlashProTSOP56 $99.00
FlashProSSOP56 $99.00
FlashProPSOP44 $99.00
FlashProPLCC32 $99.00
FlashProSIMM72 $150.00
FlashProMEMCRD $210.00

Family module boards come in the base kit. These voltage/ground rerouting boards are an integral part of the system that keeps costs down. They are swapped into the base tool as required to switch power and ground capabilities for various flash architectures or package pinout assignments.

For Miniature Card adapting hardware, see Tool Type category "Miniature Card-to-PC Card Adapter".

Tool Features:

  • Low-cost engineering programmer solution: parallel-port attachment, makes use of PC resources.

  • Intuitive user interface and on-line help: easy-to-use menus get you programming quickly.

  • iFLASH3 software: similar to D,FLASHEVAL iFLASH2 software: near-zero learning curve.

  • Modular support: you only buy what you need.

  • Socket modules for TSOP, SSOP, PSOP, PLCC, SIMMs and PCMCIA Cards.

  • Family module boards: each socket module supports all architectures in that package.

  • Supports block locking and unlocking functions with easy-to-use interface.

  • Supports individual block erase operations.
  • File Attachments:

IFL3ARC.EXE - FlashPRO software: iFLASH3.EXE version 1.4 iFL3ARC.EXE is a self-extracting compressed file. It yields the following files: iFLASH3.EXE iFLASH3.DAT iFLASH3.INI iFLASH3.HLP HELP.EXE. You must be in a DOS environment and have at least 1MB of available hard disk space. When first started, iFLASH3 creates a 128KB virtual buffer (iFLASH3.VIR) on your hard disk. This start-up size is changed by editing the DMEM setting in iFLASH3.INI. When communication is first established between iFLASH3 and FlashPRO, the file iFLASH3.IOP is created to store the port base address. iFLASH3 will attempt to find FlashPRO, searching I/O ports normally used for printers. If unsuccessful iFLASH3 will prompt for a port base address. iFLASH3 can be used in demo mode. Do so by hitting <ENTER> at the port base address prompt. If updating from an earlier version, iFLASH3 will prompt before overwriting each of the existing files. Select 'NO' for iFLASH3.INI so custom macros, file definitions, memory settings and color definitions are not overwritten. Select 'NO' for iFLASH3.IOP so a non-standard port base address is not overwritten.
