AP-728 Interfacing an Intel386(TM) EX Microprocessor to an 82527 CAN Controller

The purpose of this application note is to describe one method of interfacing an Intel 82527 CAN controller to the local bus of an Intel386 TM EX microprocessor at 25 MHz. A basic understanding of the Intel386 EX microprocessor is assumed. This description includes a verification that all AC timing specifications are satisfied and a brief description of the 82527 interface modes and clocking structure.
